Photos - In Studio

Theres' the man – Dr. Future himself, during his first ever show! It almost looks like he knows what he's doing. One of our favorites – Robert Heid – in studio for our inaugural show.

Robert and I just before the inaugural show – 5 April, 2005. Robert and his college student son Andy, who joined us in the studio, and is also a regular “Future Quake” listener.

Robert pretending to listen to me! About the most contemplative look anyone could have.

Robert and I enjoying a new post-show tradition – White Castles! Ambrosia of the gods! Robert and Andy enjoying late night gourmet fare (one of the famous Broadway-style post-show extravaganzas)!

Mrs. Future reading an excerpt on her own weekly WRFN show, “Helping Hand”. In addition to her show, she arranges computerized show programming for the station around the clock. The beautiful Mrs. Future sharing her wisdom over the airwaves in the WRFN studio.

Mrs. Future joined by Pyro in the studio (he gets around!). Future with Fats Kaplan, thereminist on the legendary “Night of the Living Theremin” Future Quake Show, and husband to the lovely Kristi Rose! Together, they make up the incomparable musical act “Pulp Country”, as well as a similarly-titled weekly WRFN show she hosts!

Pyro, the genius canine child of Dr. and Mrs. Future, independently assembled this Stone-Henge like, symmetric "sacred geometry" pattern of his dog food kibbles recently, of which we astonishingly captured an image. It appears to be a landing runway pattern, apparently for the invisible spirits he stares at at the end of our bed, or the return of the Nephilim. We need for David Flynn to review the cryptographic patterns, and in particular the mirror-image "4-2" numerical system (we did not measure to see if it was spaced at a 19.47 or 33.3 degree angle). We have noticed that he is OCD, and will line up kibbles and touch them in an orderly pattern repeatedly until he decides to eat one. We may also need to consult the "Zen Dog Trainer" at WRFN.

Dr. Future in his all-electric Miata convertible, with the mysterious “Mr.Sandman”, our show regular with reports from the military battlefield, riding shotgun (sure beats a Humvee ride!). Pyro and Mrs. Future getting ready to go into the voting booth. Pyro supports a “more treats” political platform. More neighbors know him than us, particularly due to his famous photos taken every year at the local firehouse.

Mrs. Future testifying by request before the FCC commission, on the problems of media consolidation. I was so proud of her, and the crowd was strongly behind her! There she is on the big screen! We were joined in testimony by George Jones, Porter Wagner, Big and Rich, Naomi Judd and others. Of course, they were thrilled to meet us, the First Family of Nashville Media.

Even Dr. Future got in on the act, although I think Mrs. Future stole all my thunder. I think I come up lacking on the sex appeal end of things. A better picture of my backside. They were transfixed by my testimony (either that, or in sleep paralysis).

Dr. Future and Dobie Gray – what a combination! When I met him, I knew I was in the “in-crowd”, and I didn't want him to “drift away”! Mrs. Future actually placed a “Futurequake.com” advertisement on the top of a flagpole she raised in the background of the “ESPN College Gameday” show broadcast live from Tuscaloosa, Alabama! Millions saw the show and website name live on air – almost as many as listen to the radio show every week!

You can make the words out a little on top of the pole if you look carefully. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner and WRFN friend Debra Taylor Tate (center) dropped by to visit the gang at WRFN at our sprawling complex (Dr. and Mrs. Future in the back row, right)

In the studio during a show with friends Tom (just back from the World's Strongest Man Competition) and his vivacious wife Ellie (showing her "softer" side). These California natives (now Nashville residents) are enthusiastic "Future Quake" fans, and actually put me onto two of the most important "Future Quake" guests ever - Dr. Melissa Riley (regarding the imminent Wolf Creek Dam disaster) and Professor Indrek Wichman of Michigan State University (about his nationally publicized "flap" with a campus Muslim organization). You can actually hear Tom and Ellie's silky voices on the "Dr. Riley" show. Hint, hint, "Future Quake" fans - send me leads like these cats do!

Speaking of Dr. Riley, here is Doc Future talking with Dr. Melissa Riley, Planning Officer of the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency, about the potential Wolf Creek Dam failure, which could inundate Nashville and upstream regions with catastrophic floods of Biblical proportions, and forever change the destiny of Middle Tennessee. This may have been the most important show we have ever aired, and certainly one of the scariest (in fact, the Wolf Creek Dam government website links "Future Quake", and this show archive, as the ONLY local media link to cover this issue in depth, as an information source for the citizens of this area! She volunteers a lot of extra hours (like she did on short notice the night of this show), because she and her colleagues are genuinely concerned about the welfare of their community, and she was an amazingly informed and enlightened guest. We hope to have her on again soon to talk about the expected impact in communities of the avian bird flu, and possibly talk about the state of our deteriorating bridges and other infrastrastructure (we warned about the dire state of our bridges on this original show, long before the tragedy in Minnesota).

David Payne, Creative Director of David Payne Drama and Rising Image Productions, playright and known worldwide for his portrayals of C.S. Lewis, dropped in for a visit at the WRFN studios for a recent live "Future Quake" broadcast. He discussed (as you can see him making a point) the perspective of Lewis in regard to the challenging issues of society, and how he might perceive the issues that impact us in the 21st century. The Doctor and Mr. Payne in studio, as well as his lovely bride Marilyn Payne, and the enigmatic Tom Bionic lurking in the back.
